Terms of Use

Last updated: Saturday, June 13th

These terms govern your use of roasted ("the service"), operated by Hendrik Borchert, Puschkinstraße 2, 15236 Frankfurt (Oder), Germany (see the Impressum). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.

1. What roasted is

roasted is a tool for logging and reflecting on your own caffeine consumption, with optional friends and a friends-only leaderboard. It is a lifestyle and informational product.

2. Not medical advice

roasted is not a medical device and does not provide medical, health, or dietary advice. Caffeine-content figures, the in-body caffeine estimate, blood-concentration estimates, the 400 mg/day reference, taper plans and withdrawal estimates are approximate, generic, and provided for general information only. They must not be relied on for any medical decision. They do not account for your individual health, medication, pregnancy, or conditions such as heart problems or anxiety disorders. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before changing your caffeine intake, especially during pregnancy or if you have a medical condition. The leaderboard is for personal motivation and is not an encouragement to increase consumption; caffeine can be harmful in excess.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use roasted. By using the service you confirm that you are.

4. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and do not impersonate others or choose a username intended to deceive. We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service or other users.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the service unlawfully, attempt to break or overload it, access other users' data without authorisation, or use it to harass others. The leaderboard shares your username and caffeine totals only with friends you have accepted.

6. Disclaimer & liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranty that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for loss arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for intent or gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable German law (including the Produkthaftungsgesetz). For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an essential contractual obligation, and then only for foreseeable, typical damage.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make material changes we will ask you to review and accept the updated terms the next time you use the service. Continued use after acceptance is governed by the updated terms.

8. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time from Settings → Your data & privacy → Delete account, which erases your data (see the Privacy Policy).

9. Governing law

German law applies, to the extent permitted by mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.
